Gut Health Fasting Probiotics

Prepping your Gut to Fight Cancer with Fasting and Probiotic Rotation

If you’re JUST using probiotics for gut health you are LITERALLY throwing money at a problem that will never be solved!!

Embracing an INTERMITTENT FASTING lifestyle will starve down the bad bacteria and give you the best chance of then reinoculating the good.

We use Dr. Daniel Pompa’s 5-1-1 rule. 5 days of intermittent fasting (eating within a roughly 6 hour window), one day of a 24 hour fast (dinner to dinner), and one “feast” day where we eat all day and throw in more carbs than we usually would to boot!

Don’t forget longer periodic fasts – I haven’t eaten for three days and feel great… for the most part 😉 There’s a VERY good reason it’s right there in The Bible!!!

With probiotics and fermented foods, ROTATION is key! If you’re going for maximum diversity in the gut then it doesn’t make any sense to take the same probiotic or eat the same fermented food all the time.

And I forgot to mention this in the video but if you’re going through chemotherapy, your oncologist might be telling you not to take probiotics but be sure to consult with a naturopathic oncologist as well who reads the studies on probiotics during chemotherapy massively increasing OVERALL SURVIVAL!!!

SOME Probiotics We Use:
Genestra HMF Intensive
MaryRuth Organics Probiotic
Inner Eco Coconut Water: Most Organic Grocers
Kombucha (Trilogy by GTs is our favorite for the low sugar plus amazing taste)
Fermented Foods like Sauerkraut

Here is an EASY how to make sauerkraut video!

About the Author - Ryan Sternagel
In May of 2014, when his son Ryder was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma, Ryan immediately turned into a full time "dadcologist" – spending long hours researching and talking with various cancer experts from all over the world.

With everything he and his wife Teddy learned, came My Kid Cures Cancer, a site dedicated to helping all those dealing with cancer navigate through the world of natural, alternative, and integrative cancer protocols... Especially parents with the unique challenge of applying what they learn to a child.

Aside from writing articles for the site, Ryan is an advocate and coach for families dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

In his "spare time" he, enjoys training for and competing in triathlons, taking advantage of all the outdoor activities their home in Park City, UT has to offer, and most of all, family hikes in the woods.

Hi there! We just found out our 3.5 year old has RMS… totally in shock! Doctors want her to start Chemo in a week… wow, just too much. I want to consult with a naturopathic oncologist to see how we can supplement the chemo with natural remedies but I have no clue where to find one. We live in Geneva Switzerland so best in Europe, but actually I will take the best one anywhere over skype any day. Thank you so much for making this website! Judy

So sorry to hear Judy, it certainly is a lot to take in at once isn’t it? Just so you know we do have our own coaching program based off our experience figuring all of this out. The details are on the connect page – http://www.mykidcurescancer.com/connect/ we work with people all over. I’m not too familiar with the naturopathic oncologists over there and not sure if the ones here consult internationally!
